There are monsters everywhere in all sorts of shapes & sizes. And they hide in all sorts of places. What you might not know is that most monsters hide in plain sight with the thin disguises of people who care or things that you “need”. Sometimes they are friends and coworkers, other times they are “helpful” strangers. They are always vicious deep inside, yet they never growl & howl as one might expect a monster to, making them that much harder to spot.
There are lots of ways to get rid of monsters. Fire seems to do the trick most of the time & ninjas work okay. But they say that violence isn’t the answer, and I’ve come to find that reasoning stops every breed of villain or beast. I’m assuming that something in their brain must snap when they are whacked with good old fashioned logical reasoning because they always get flustered, stop dead in their tracks, and lay, speechless at my witty will. I take great satisfaction in watching monsters squirm when I call them out, straighten them out & tell them what’s up.
I’m not blowing any smoke here; I’ve had my fair share of monsters, and I know what I’m doing when it comes to eradicating them. But I’ll have to admit that the tricky & sticky ones are the ones that find a crevice, a dark spot, or a hole in your life & wedge their way in. These are things like addictions, depression, & hopelessness. These are the monsters under the bed & I have to admit that I don’t know how to reason with them. But I’m learning.
I’m prying them out with a crow bar.
